Ok, so I’m a bit late on this. It’s whatever really, but when I realized it was 90+ degrees outside and I was wearing a black chiffon blouse with dark skinnies, I nearly punched myself. I never follow my own advice, and I always buy these fantastic prints and colors and I stick to the regular blacks always. No mas I say. Totally getting rid of 90 percent of the black and storing it away somewhere till winter, and until then, it’s whites, lights, or bust. But of course, keeping it as minimalistic as humanly possible. C’est la vie.
Taking a deep breath away from so many fall-transitioning into spring-darks is sometimes hard. Sometimes. It’s been easier so far, going from black to pastel to whatever’s hip for fall, but where does that leave Summer? Ah, Summer. That overlooked season, where the majority of the populous assumes that they’ll be alright in a swim suit and not much else. And while that is a major possibility, I hope others strive to look polished sometimes, you know, after all the sand and surf. White is a big deal because it’s bold in an understated and somewhat overwhelming way. Too keep your ensembles summer friendly, opt for crop tops and high bottoms for that neat, retro vibe. Accessories may include but are not limited to pretty floral pieces and circle shades. And try to embrace a floral or lighter scent this season, to accompany your SPF as well, of course!
It’s getting hotter outside, so sadly enough, the brogues and knee high boots are going to have to learn to love the closet once more. With clothes shrinking, getting shorter, and in some parts, disappearing altogether, I’ve set out to find a way to keep my feet cool without resorting to…flip….flops….*cringes*. Cool, demi-heeled sandals such as Alexander Wangs (<3) and Asos, pictured above, keep you cool with the cut outs but can easily transition from a day at the park to a night on the town, and if you’re like me, you like not having to think much about clothing. The Zara shoes above are a bit of a crazy stretch for me, but I think that those paired up with simple skinnies and a white tee would make you the coolest girl this summer. And let’s not forget nails. I’m not a fan of nail art. I can appreciate nail art but I just won’t have it done to me, so I stick with one color and done. Can be a crazy color sometimes, which is fantastic for summer time, but if you know me you know it’s black, white, or pink. The blue above is really great though, too!
Spring is certainly my favorite time, because of all the light use of color, you know, when it’s still reasonable to wear b&w most of the time, with hints of pastels here and there. But as we quickly approach summer-time, those baby hues are getting turned up a few notches into blazing shades and bold colors so fresh and cool, just like a popsicle during a pool party. Take the plunge, as I am, with these babies on my face and nails. Now, I am not so daring to try the blue or green eyeshadows, but I’m all about candy colored pouts during the lazy, oceanside evenings.
I’m not big on wearing jewelry, personally. Although I can appreciate it, damn near envy the ladies that can pull off multiple things at a time, I just can’t, so I stick with watches everyday, something I get from my mother. Collars are so cool though, the simple idea of them is too neat to handle. I’ve seen a few diy’s that teach you how to make them, but the ones above are reasonably priced so it’s whatevah. I wear button ups all the time, so I think I’ll try out a collar underneath the one provided to see if I can live with it, if not, you should try em. Rub it in my face how good it looks and maybe then I’ll stop being so chicken!
I wanted to take a quick minute to thank you all for following this blog. I’m a young kid with a really big interest in all of this, so it means a lot to me that you’ve all given me the chance to show you what I can put out to the world. From the bottom of my tiny heart, thank you, and I hope I entertain you all in some way or another.
