Valentino Fall 2013 Inspired Looks for Work and Weekend

It’s crazy to me how forward fashion is always. Seems like you can’t get through the collections of the present season without the next few seasons popping up around you like weeds. But I can’t think of any negatives about that. If you kept up with Valentino, you know the fall 2013 collection is so beautiful you could die. Ivory and cobalt meet in a china-esque type of way, with gorgeous patterned fabrics and classic silhouettes, and the gowns. The gowns. I can’t. And although I’m not a big fan of blue and white (I usually stick to black and white), I really think this is a breath of fresh air for even the chilly months of fall and beyond. Pair this idea up with a camel trench or even a hounds-tooth patterned coat  and you take a bit of the springy pattern trend with you to colder climates in a fantastic and classic way.

NYFW OUTFIT (IF I WAS THERE)

 

Ugh, writing in jealousy. I’ll say it again and again. I wish I was at NYFW. I would settle on just standing outside. It’s almost sad, how giant my dreams are. But it’s alright, someday I’ll get there. You just wait and see. Anyways, here’s what I’d wear if I was there. A simple mix of neutrals with a pop of the most beautiful orange. Oh fashion week, you slay me. ONE DAY!

Jason Wu Fall 2013 Ready to Wear Inspired Outfits!

 

I am completely in love with Jason Wu’s Fall 2013 Ready To Wear Collection. It is so militant chic in such neutral and classic ways, incorporating architectural  shapes and stiff collars, combined with feminine hems and sleek, simple hair. I also like the limited use of colors, having pops of vibrant blue and vivid red, along side gray floral patterns and what looks to be snake skin. In this set, I show you the simplest way to dress inspired by the collection itself.

 

And here are some other ideas based off the collection, including an example of it’s use of feathers and red. Remember, the best way to imitate the idea behind the collection is to use trench coats and collared dresses.
