All Hail Zara

Image

Let me not flood this with anecdotes and tangents about personal things. I just really love Zara. They have an architectural approach to the construction and shape of the clothing, but they make the clothing in light fabrics with organic patterns and designs. I think that is sheer brilliance. Even their darker pieces have a very crisp feel and flow to them, and their clothing is damn good quality. Spring time is a cool time because we can all experiment with patterns in fabrics along as in silhouettes. The shorts on the left outfit (yep, that’s a pair of shorts) has panels that move from one side to another, making it look almost identically to a skirt, which is easily dressed up or down. All in all, that’s what Pretty Neutral is about. Finding ways to recycle pieces for different occasions. You call it laziness, we call it innovative. 😉

Valentino Spring 2013 Couture Inspired Looks

Image

Alright, phew, this one. This set of looks is inspired by Valentinos Spring 2013 Couture Collection which is composed of the most beautiful and almost translucent gowns. This was a tough set to make because the collection in itself is so varied, ranging from different textures, draping, fabrics, colors, etc. I looked over the collection and picked three standout features in most of the gowns. This collection is inspired by “wrought-iron gates and secret labyrinths of formal gardens”, and if you look at the collection in it’s entirety, the feel is definitely there. Pictured above are some simple outfits inspired by a few gowns, wearable in the evening or daytime, and with a simple blazer added, can be worn in the workplace.
